I was fortunate to participate in a solar printmaking workshop with noted artist Dan Welden at the Rusty Barn Studio in Goleta this March 14-16.Solar printmaking is a ecologically more friendly technique than traditional acid etching. The new Abstract Arts Collective show benefiting SEE has been hung and will open tomorrow morning, 10AM at the Faulkner Gallery at the Santa Barbara Downtown Public Library. I have several ieces in the show. Check out the event flyer for details.

This is some of what I saw today:
Nice dose of rain today. This afternoon I attended my friend Sojourner Kincade-Rolle’s induction ceremony as Santa Barbara’s Poet Laurette at City Hall. On the way out of the building I noticed that there was an exhibition of Ray Strong paintings including these two gems… two color charts that Ray painted:
The rain stopped and I was able to reopen my studio.

The Abstract Arts Collective’s new show is up at the TVSB Multimedia Center at 329 South Salinas Street, here in Santa Barbara. The show’s reception will be on Friday, April 3rd from 5-7 PM.
